David Milton
With 40 years at the business end of club culture (plus more as a fan and music lover) here and in the UK, David Milton is arguably Sydney's most experienced leader in this notoriously difficult segment of the entertainment industry.
He's undoubtedly been one of Sydney's most influential club owner and booker for the last 20 years, pioneering the modern era of dance music presentation and promotion in Sydney, helping turn this once trend-following city into a trend-setting world leader.
Applying knowledge gained as a club owner in England, whole scenes have been nurtured and progressed to commercial and artistic success under DM's guidance, including the golden era of Kinselas in the early '90s, Soho Bar and Site Nightclub (now known as YU) in the late '80s, and the Hip Hop Club (now known as Goodbar) in the early '80s.
More recently, David has been engaged as consultant at such current hot spots as the Colombian, Middle Bar, Opera Bar, Soda Bar and Golden Sheaf Hotel, and Hotel Chambers (Red Room) and many others.
As a design and fitout consultant to venues, David was responsible for much of the development of these renowned venues. Their reputation is close to legendary in the history of Sydney's nightlife.
His personal style is relaxed, his dress sense as sharp as his understanding of the many facets of venue management, entertainment and promotion.
